BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Anthony is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He joined Cleveland Clinic in 2009. Dr. Anthony completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, earning degrees in Biology and Theology in 1991. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1995. Following medical school, he completed a transitional internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 1996 and was subsequently assigned to the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as a General Medical Officer. During the next two years, he was deployed with a Marine Expeditionary Unit as Group Surgeon. After returning to the United States, Dr. Anthony completed his dermatology residency training through the joint Army and Air Force program in San Antonio, Texas. Upon completion of training in 2001, he was stationed at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia, where he served as Staff Dermatologist and later as Head of the Dermatology Department. Following his military service, he entered private practice for five years before relocating to Cleveland. Since joining Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Anthony has served as President of the Cleveland Clinic Medical Staff and as Chair of the Board of Governors Professional Advancement Council. He currently serves as a Director of both the American Contact Dermatitis Society and the Cleveland Dermatological Society. Dr. Anthony’s clinical interests include medical dermatology, contact dermatitis, and the practice of patch testing.
