BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jamie MacKelfresh is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her MD, dermatology residency, and dermatopathology fellowship at Emory after earning her undergraduate degree from UNC–Chapel Hill. A board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, her interests center on hair and scalp disorders and the histology of alopecia. She leads Emory’s regional subspecialty clinic and pathology service for hair disorders. Dr. MacKelfresh has a longstanding commitment to medical education, mentoring, and faculty development, and she previously served as the Emory Dermatology Residency Program Director for 12 years. She currently serves as Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Dermatology and as Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education, where she helps oversee approximately 1,500 residents and fellows across Emory’s training programs. She has authored numerous publications, many focused on alopecia and medical education.
