BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Carla Torres-Zegarra, MD is a triple board-certified pediatric dermatologist, educator, and passionate advocate for empowering patients and families through evidence-based dermatologic care. Originally from Peru, she continued her medical journey in the United States, where she trained in pediatrics and dermatology before subspecializing in pediatric dermatology. She now serves on faculty at the University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital Colorado and is the Program Director of their Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship. Dr. Torres-Zegarra’s clinical niches include vascular anomalies, procedural pediatric dermatology, PCOS-related and hormonal skin disorders, and complex inflammatory skin disease in children and adolescents. Her work emphasizes the intersection of dermatology and systemic health, recognizing the skin as a critical marker of underlying hormonal, vascular, and inflammatory processes — particularly during the formative years of adolescence. A bilingual speaker and host of the globally recognized podcast Pediatras en Línea, she is committed to making medical education accessible, culturally inclusive, and practical for both physicians and families. Through her educational platforms, including her Instagram account @dra.carlatorresz, she shares science-backed insights that make dermatology approachable and actionable. Whether in clinic, on stage, or behind the microphone, her mission is simple: translate science into clarity, confidence, and compassionate care.
