BIOGRAPHY
Dr Julien Seneschal is Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, National Reference Center for Rare Skin Diseases, University of Bordeaux. He is the head of the Inflammatory and Auto-Immune Skin Disorders Unit and is leader of the immune-dermatology research team at CNRS UMR 5164 ImmunoConCept unit, University of Bordeaux. Dr Seneschal’s research is focusing on the understanding of the immune pathogenesis of inflammatory skin disorders with a special interest in vitiligo, alopecia areata and atopic dermatitis. His team projects explore the phenotype and function of resident memory T cells in vitiligo and the impact of pro-inflammatory cytokines on epidermal cells. This translational research aims to identify novel therapeutic approaches. He is authors of several clinical and research articles related to skin inflammatory diseases published in the JAAD, JAMA Dermatologye, British Journal of Dermatology, Science Translational Medicine, Science Advances, Immunity. He is a former board member of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR) and past president of the French Society for Research in Dermatology.
