BIOGRAPHY

Seth L. Matarasso currently serves on the Board of Directors at the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Matarasso received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and his MD from State University of New York at Buffalo Medical School. Later, he was an intern as the Department of Internal Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his residency and chief residency at the department of dermatology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Matarasso was a fellow in Dermatologic Surgery and Mohs Chemosurgery at the UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco California. Dr. Matarasso’s areas of interest include general and aesthetic dermatology, cutaneous oncology and reconstruction. He is a clinical professor dermatology at the UCSF School of Medicine and the past President of both the American Society of Dermatology and the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He has been extensively involved in the Academy. He has served on the Bylaws Committee as chair , on the DermWorld Advisory Board, the Public Education Committee, the Judicial Panel, Distance Learning & Enduring Materials Committee as the Chair, the Interdisciplinary & Postgraduate Task Force, the Organizational Structure Committee, and the Aging Skin Network. He has been involved on the JAAD editorial Board as an Associate Surgical Editor, a Special Editor and has been on the Editorial workgroup. Dr. Matarasso has received a Presidential citation from the Academy and currently has over 100 publications and has given over 500 presentations.
