S062 Grand Challenges in Global Skin Health - The Atlases
DESCRIPTION
The ILDS Grand Challenges in Global Skin Health works closely with the World Health Organization to elucidate the global epidemiology of the inflammatory skin diseases psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo and hidradenitis suppurativa through its four cognate atlases. By so doing this provides robust evidence on the prevalence, understanding and access to care for these diseases that affect more than 250 million people worldwide.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Discuss the worldwide epidemiology of inflammatory skin diseases and thereby enhance recognition of these as serious non-communicable diseases deserving of greater recognition
Recognize the ILDS Grand Challenges in Global Skin Health and the 78th World Health Assembly resolution on skin disease as a global health priority
Evaluate the roles of the Skin Observatory and the Global Atlases in enhancing access to care for skin disease worldwide
